Old Fashioned

The original definition of a cocktail — spirit, sugar, water, bitters — and the name comes from 1880s drinkers asking for one made the old-fashioned way. Slow, spirit-forward and warming; dilution is the ingredient you control.

  1. Add to a mixing glass

    60 ml120 ml180 ml240 mlBourbon— not in stock
    10 ml20 ml30 ml40 mlSugar syrup (2:1)— not in stock
    3 dashes6 dashes9 dashes12 dashesAngostura bitters— not in stock
  2. Stir with cubed ice for a good 30 seconds, adding ice as it melts

  3. Strain into an old-fashioned glass over one large ice cube

  4. Garnish with orange zest twist
