The 1880s bridge between the Manhattan and the Martini. Sweet vermouth and a touch of maraschino give it a rounder, more aromatic profile than a Martini — think gin as a sipping spirit.

1. Add to a mixing glass

   45 ml90 ml135 ml180 ml	Old Tom gin— not in stock
   45 ml90 ml135 ml180 ml	Sweet (rosso) vermouth— not in stock
   5 ml10 ml15 ml20 ml	Maraschino liqueur— not in stock
   2 dashes4 dashes6 dashes8 dashes	Orange bitters— not in stock

2. Stir with cubed ice for 20–30 seconds

3. Strain into a chilled coupe, no ice

4. Garnish with orange zest twist
