Hanky Panky

Ada Coleman created it at the Savoy's American Bar around 1903 for the actor Charles Hawtrey, who called it 'the real hanky-panky'. A sweet Martini with a dash of Fernet that adds menthol and a long bitter finish.

  1. Add to a mixing glass

    45 ml90 ml135 ml180 mlGin (London dry)— not in stock
    45 ml90 ml135 ml180 mlSweet (rosso) vermouth— not in stock
    7.5 ml15 ml22.5 ml30 mlFernet-Branca— not in stock
  2. Stir with cubed ice for 20–30 seconds

  3. Strain into a chilled coupe, no ice

  4. Garnish with orange zest twist
