El Diablo

From Trader Vic's 1946 book — one of the first tequila cocktails to catch on outside Mexico. Cassis gives it a deep berry colour, ginger beer the heat; sweet, spicy and long.

1. Add to a shaker

   50 ml100 ml150 ml200 ml	Tequila reposado— not in stock
   15 ml30 ml45 ml60 ml	Crème de cassis— not in stock
   15 ml30 ml45 ml60 ml	Lime juice (fresh)— not in stock

2. Shake with cubed ice for 8 seconds

3. Strain into a highball filled with cubed ice

4. Top with

   100 ml2 × 100 ml3 × 100 ml4 × 100 ml

   Ginger beer— not in stock

5. Garnish with lime wedge
